Marcie SmolinMarcie Smolin is a Coach and the Director and a founding member of The Actors Circle, LLC.   She began her acting career as a child actor.   Marcie has been a series regular on two TV series as well as guest starring in numerous television shows.   In addition to acting Marcie was a stand-up comic for 13 years appearing on numerous stand-up shows including An Evening at the Improv, Girls Night Out, Later NBC as well as a primetime NBC comedy Special .   She toured the country for many years appearing regularly in Vegas.   Marcie has also appeared in more television commercials than she cares to count.

She received her Bachelors Degree in Theatre Arts and her Masters Degree in screenwriting.   Marcie has been coaching both children and adults for over 17 years.   Marcie first began working with Kevin McDermott over 17 years ago at Center Stage LA.   After leaving for several years to work as a performer, Marcie returned to coaching 6 years ago.   Many of her current and past students are appearing as series regulars and in feature films.  

Marcie continues to work as a performer, though coaching actors is her first love.   She feels that by continuing to work as a performer, she can bring all the current trends of the industry into the workshop.

Marcie is one of the founding members of the Actors Circle, LLC .  The Actors Circle is a collaboration that will continue to grow and offer a supportive environment for both child actors and adults.

Karen LandryKaren Landry has taught acting for UCLA Extension for many years and at The Actors circle, LLC (formerly CenterStage LA). Karen is a classically trained actress who has spent many years working professionally in theater, film and television. Most recently she guest starred on SIX FEET UNDER, as Eve. Some of her other tv work includes ANY DAY NOW, THE DIVISION, THE PRACTICE, JAG, BEVERLY HILLS 90210, PICKET FENCES,CHICAGO HOPE, and many others. She starred as Myra White for three years on ST. ELSEWHERE. Her most recent film work includes BULL RUN, SWEETLAND, INCONSOLABLE, THE PEACEFUL WARRIOR, and RUMOUR HAS IT. You may also remember PATTI ROCKS, which she cowrote and starred in as well as JIMMY ZIP and THE PERSONALS.

Onstage, Karen has performed at many professional theaters such as The Guthrie Theater, South Coast Rep, Denver Center Theater, San Jose Rep, Theatre De La Jeune Lune, Mixed Blood Theater and more. Last spring she starred in FLAGS at the Odyssey Theater,a west coast premiere. She is a member of the Pacific Resident Theater where she will be seen in DEATH OF A SALESMAN. Karen is currently directing a new play, BLAST at the Pacific Resident Theater. Last spring she received rave reviews for her direction of WHEN THEY SPEAK OF RITA, produced at PRT as well.

Dee Marcus

Dee Marcus, actress, producer and director, has founded some of the most successful comedy shows, including: OFF THE WALL (OTW). now in their 30th year, THE ILLEGITIMATE THEATRE, 8 years-San Francisco, FUNNY YOU SHOULD ASK, (FYSA), 7 years. Dee produced, with Andy Goldberg, and performed in ABC's Improv Comedy Special "COMPLETELY OFF THE WALL", with special guest star John Ritter.

Dee's improv shows and workshops have helped develop many successful writers, producers and performers, including Chris Thompson (OTW, Bosom Buddies), Neil Thompson (FYSA, Malcolm in the Middle), Gary Anthony Williams (The Toast, Malcolm in the Middle), Robin Williams (OTW, Mrs. Doubtfire) and Paul Willson (OTW, Office Space).

Dee's career as an actress and voice-over talent includes hundreds of feature films and network television episodes. Her most recent credit is on HBO's "Six Feet Under". Of her film projects, she is especially thrilled with the performances of the cast of "The Toast" and is proud to be one of the producers. Dee is also a Mom and a Grandma - All Boys - OH BOY
